A new project "EURONET-NF: European Network for improved molecular diagnostics of the NeuroFibromatosesschwannomatoses and related disorders" at 3P-Medicine Laboratory

Magdalena Koczkowska, PhD, a senior postdoc from the Research Group “Mosaicism for autosomal post-zygotic mutation” has been awarded with another prestigious grant in the field of neurofibromatoses-schwannomatosis (NF-SWN). Magdalena will be leading workpackage 1B (WP1B) in the project „EURONET-NF: European Network for improved molecular diagnostics of the NeuroFibromatosesschwannomatoses and related disorders”. The objective of WP1B is to develop, validate and compare new DNA- based testing techniques to detect coding and intronic variants at very low levels, thereby enhancing the genetic diagnosis of NF-SWN. The budget allocated for Magdalena’s research group exceeds PLN 920,000. The research will be conducted for 36 months in a consortium led by Elisabeth Castellanos from Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), Badalona, Spain as part of the European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases of the Horizon 2020 Programme.
